Ashlee Knapp
Ashlee was a member of the New York City Ballet from 2001-2007. During this time she performed more than 40 ballets from world renowned choreographers including George Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15, Episodes, Firebird, Four Temperaments, Jewels, Mid-Summer Night's Dream, Stars and Stripes, and Western Symphony; Jerome Robbins's Four Seasons; Peter Martins' Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake; Christopher Wheeldon's Carnival of the Animals and Scenes de Ballet. She toured with the NYCB to Russia, Denmark and Washington, DC.
While studying at the School of American Ballet, Ashlee was awarded SAB’s Mae L. Wien Award for outstanding promise. She also studied on scholarship at The Rock School in Philadelphia.
Ashlee is featured in two of Finis Jhung’s instructional videos “Art of Pointe Work 1 and 2”. She won the Princess Grace Award in 2001 and modeled one of Grace Kelly's gowns on The Today Show on behalf of The Princess Grace Foundation's fundraising program. She has taught ballet at Columbia University.
