Hair must be secured neatly in a high bun at the crown of the head. Jewelry is not permitted, aside from stud earrings, as jewelry can be a distraction to students.

Gentlemen enrolled in the conservatory must wear a white t-shirt, black footed pants, and black split sole shoes for all levels. The boys-only class may be taken in a white t-shirt, black athletic sweatpants or shorts and tight-fitting ankle socks.

Conduct

Our main goal at RBC is to nurture excellence and to teach our dancers to be outstanding members of society. All of our students and their families are responsible for exhibiting the highest standards of behavior. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment or discriminatory behavior of any kind. If such behavior is exhibited, such parties will be removed from our program immediately.

The supportive and caring culture of RBC is of the utmost importance to us. We thank you for helping to create a welcoming environment for our students and faculty.

attendance

Students should arrive fifteen minutes before class to warm-up. Arriving after your class has started is disruptive to the teacher and the other students. Students who arrive late must stop by the office before entering the class. Dancers will be asked to sit and take notes if they are later than ten minutes.

If you miss a class, please schedule a make-up class by emailing info@ryeballet.com. Due to current constraints on the number of students permitted in the studio, students may not take a class that he or she is not enrolled in without scheduling the make-up class in advance.

RECITAL

Performance rehearsals will generally occur during normally scheduled class time in the spring. Please make every effort to attend all classes, because an absent dancer impacts the staging of the show and affects the ability of the other dancers to learn their stage patterns and choreography. Repeated class absences may result in re-casting or removal from the performance.
